AT-ALTITUDE

Let's talk about the trend of disrespect. It no longer seems a big deal when the younger being insults the older man. Where did it all begin? Why have we decided to keep mum over such issues.
While growing up,we all had a sense of communal respect, of communal parenting. The kids on the block respected each other's parents like they were theirs, while the parents treated all as one.
The rate and manner at which disrespect seems to pass for 'expression of one's mind' is not the way it should be.

Someone please call the ancestors, tell them respect just got shot.
Your Attitude is a determinant of your Altitude-AT-ALTITUDE.

PARENT - HOOD

Have you ever wondered what the hood behind the parent could mean?
Could it be the same hood as the covering attached to a piece of cloth, or could it refer to hood as we use it on the streets to mean our place of abode or our zone like we call it?
Yes it is both and even more.
In times like this where it seems the government is so busy dealing with issues regarding economics and finances not t o talk about battling allegations of bribery, fraud, corruption to mention but a few the responsibility lies on the parent to cater for most of the needs of their children.
Whether single, married, divorced, widowed you are a parent and that is what matters right now. In times like this when the government has failed homes shouldn't fail to ensure that moral values are still being kept and adhered to by their children. Its not been easy is what most parents will give as response but will it be much more easier when your children have become prime suspects in murder cases, robbery cases and all sorts of abnormalities which they might be pressurized to fall into.
Take time off whatever you are doing and ask yourself the question; have i been a good parent all along?
Have you taken time to talk to your daughter about why she shouldn't dress in a certain manner, clothes that  are meant and not meant for certain places?
Have you taken time to hang out with the boys and see what foresight and guidance they have as regards making money and living large like every young man wants to?
Let the parents rise, grab the mantle of correction and set things straight from the homes before the kids get it all bent on the streets!
Redefining the 'WORLD' starts within the 'WALLS' of our homes or shall i say, our 'HOOD'!

THE HIND VIEW

Lets take a look at the profession from where it started. Then, we were more like mere taker-offs but today, Quantity Surveying has grown so much more that every other participant in the built industry seeks the service of a Q.S.
Now to the view, most graduates of the profession sometimes have doubts as to whether there is a job waiting for them out there in the field but i request that you look beyond just the taking off sheets and the SMM, the Quantity Surveyor has the chance and is equiped with all it takes to venture into other aspects of the industry.
A good look at project management for example, most of the best in this field are Quantity Surveyors. The profession deals with much more than just the finance but even farther into dispute resolution, interpretation of contractual terms beyond the mere view of the language in which they have been written and the ability to relate with every professional in the industry.
Let the younger ones ponder, we could make the difference.

UNDER-ESTEEM-MATED!

The power of a smile is often under-estimated. A smile is more than just the lifting of ones cheeks to show a certain level of happinness, approval or whatever reason it might have been used for. \
A smile, goes deep into the heart,it breathes life into the lifeless,it turns the negative mind into a positive thinking one.
Even the hopeless feels hopeful when smiled at.
A smile, saves the day.
Smiling even saves you from wrinkles....wow!
A smiling face wins the heart.
Smile towards someone and you just might be saving that life.
Have you smiled towards someone today?

Deep Thinking........................

what sort of life is this if we all have to struggle.what's the essence of our struggles,if we all have to die?I tell you, life is way beyond flashy cars, luxury houses, scary bank accounts...........it's beyond the physical,it's spiritual. It dawned on me,why do we have to die?but then, even i,dont have the answers.i searched the scriptures of life, even these,do not possess the right answers and then i sought the elders and vanity they told me,vanity is life.Where are our past leaders?where are the past looters of public funds, the ones who allow the poor poorer, making themselves richer?all about life is like walking on the beach, your footprints only last while you stand.Once you move, they are gone, never to be seen.Washed away by the powerful forces behind the waves of the ocean..............I shiver when i think of these, when i imagine death, but then i feel,it's our debt.We all owe it,We all pay it..............................LIFE!
